Important Tips: -
Keep your phone password protected
Always keep a lock on your phone, so no one can access it easily. Don’t keep a very simple PIN, Pattern or Password but make sure not keep a very difficult one as well. Phones with finger print sensor are quiet convenient in this case.
Always keep your Location & Data ON
GPS and running mobile data helps to get a live and updated phone location and status. It won’t consume much battery not even much data. In fact, Google can provide you with very useful information with its location based cards.
Share your Location
Location sharing option is available on apps like Whatsapp. If you find yourself in an unsafe area or in some difficulty, you can send a small text and update your location on your Whatsapp group. So, just in case, if you need help of your friends or family members, they can directly reach to you without wasting any time by connecting their phones to your live location.
You can do the same in case if you are running out of battery. You can update your family and friends about your last location before phones goes dead.
*Remember, share your location only with people whom you trust!

Don’t worry if your phone was on Vibration or on Silent mode. Ring option will allow you to 'ring' your phone remotely on full volume for 5 minutes. It will raise an alarm! May be thief will get panic and throw away your phone.
You can remotely lock your phone and change its password, so that the services related to your phone gets logged-out from your device and a person cannot use it any wrong way. Your E-mail and other e-mail related services will be logged-out instantly.
A person who stole your phone can use it in anyway and this anyway means 'in-any-way'. He can send your personal data and pictures online or can do some illegal activity too. It’s better to dump your data instead of watching it buzzing online. Erase option will clear all your personal stuff present on your phone. It is hard but it is life saver.

Android provides a Home Screen Message Option. (You can find this option in Settings > User). This message is visible on your Lock Screen.
You can update your Emergency Contact Number and your Home Address or nearby address, so just in case if some good soul find your phone and try to help you in returning it, he can contact on that number which will be visible on your lock screen.
It also comes handy if you met an accident. Phones are well protected by passwords and may be a person who is helping you cannot access your phone, but at least he can read your home address and emergency contact number.
