Panaji: Manohar Parrikar took oath as the New Chief Minister of Goa on Tuesday 14th March 17. But as per the Supreme Court, he must take a trust vote on Thursday to prove he has a majority. This is the 3rd time Manohar Parrikar was chosen as the Chief Minister of Goa by BJP. It was a very big setback for the Congress, even after winning 17 seats in the Goa election. The BJP won only 13 seats but secured the support of regional parties.
Parrikar promises of a 'Golden Goa'.
Soon after taking oath as Goa CM Parrikar said: "If you (Congress) had the support then why did you not go to the Governor?". He also said that the support extended to his party to form the government in the state is only for Goa's development. No MLA wanted to support Congress, he claimed. However, Congress is confident that Parrikar's government will fail the floor test on Thursday.
